Safety Isaiah Johnson was named the ACC’s defensive back of the week after tying a career high with 14 tackles in the Yellow Jackets’ 56-28 win over Pittsburgh Saturday. Johnson also forced a fumble and recovered another in the furious first quarter in which Tech forced and gained possession of five Panthers fumbles.

It’s the second ACC defensive back of the week award for Johnson in his career. He’s also Tech’s second player to be recognized by the ACC this season, following right guard Shaquille Mason being named co-offensive lineman of the week after the Jackets’ win over Miami. Johnson has 253 career tackles, third all-time among Tech defensive backs.
