Nate Hicks, a 6-foot-10, 200-pound center from Arnold High in Panama City Beach, Fla., has signed a financial-aid agreement with Georgia Tech.

Hicks originally signed with Tulane. After Green Wave coach Dave Dickerson resigned in March, Hicks was granted a transfer. He will enroll at Tech in August and is eligible for the coming season.

He will join Daniel Miller (6-11) and Brad Sheehan (7-0) as three true post players on Tech's roster. The Yellow Jackets' recruiting class comprises Hicks and Jason Morris, a 6-5 wing player from Hephzibah.

“We’re fortunate to find a quality student-athlete like Nate at this late stage,” coach Paul Hewitt said in a statement. “He had a tremendous senior year and was clearly one of the most improved players in the state of Florida. We look forward to working with him.”

Hicks averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocked shots as a senior.
