Three-star defensive tackle and UCF commit Antwan Owens withdrew his commitment from UCF on Monday night and became the 19th member of Georgia Tech’s 2017 signing class.

Owens, who went on his official visit to Tech the weekend of Jan. 14, announced his commitment to Tech on Twitter on Monday night writing, "After much thought and consideration in addition to speaking to my family and loved ones, I have come to the conclusion that decommitting from the University of Central Florida and committing to Georgia Tech is what's in the best interest for me and my future on and off the football field."

Before Owens’ official visit to Tech, the 6-foot-3, 286 pound senior from Tallahassee, Fla. said he was “solid” on his commitment to UCF and wanted to compare a few other colleges to make sure he made the right decision.

Owens committed to UCF in June and received his offer from Tech in November.

Owens makes three defensive linemen in Tech’s 2017 signing class along with 3-star defensive ends Cortez Alston and Kelton Dawson. Dawson committed on Sunday along with two others after their official visits over the weekend.
