Defensive end Aliki Vimahi from Kahuku, Hi. has 12 offers to choose from to continue his football career in 2017 and Georgia Tech is among them.
The 6-foot-3, 244 pound senior from Kahuku High School announced on Twitter that he received a verbal offer from Tech in May and in August he confirmed he recevied his official offer on Aug. 1. Vimahi also has offers from UCLA, Oregon State, Virginia, San Diego State, Washington State, UNLV, Hawaii, Colorado and BYU.
The No. 4 recruit on 247Sports’ list of top 2017 recruits in Hawaii has a 5.03 4—yard dash time, according to 247 Sports.
According to his Twitter page, Vimahi also visited the University of Southern California as a junior in June of 2015, but Vimahi has announced no offer from the Trojans.
In Vimahi's mid-season highlight package, his strength and determination are his best qualities. Vimahi doesn't give up in pursuit of the ball carrier until he hears a whistle or knocks the target to the ground. On the high school level, Vimahi's height proves an advantage in knocking down several passes from opposing quarterbacks so far this season.
In Vimahi’s senior season, the Kahuku Red Raiders are 7-1 with their next game on Friday against Leilehua High School. The Red Raiders are coming off their bye week.
