Storms force postponement of Georgia baseball

The stormy weather that rolled through North Georgia on Friday afternoon disrupted play at the NCAA baseball regional in Athens.

The Georgia game against Campbell that was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday was postponed till noon Saturday.

Troy and Duke were playing Friday, with Troy leading 5-0 after 4-1/2 innings, when rain and lightning caused a delay at 3:51 p.m. Heavy rain continued and extended the delay into the night.

As of 8:15 p.m., the Troy-Duke game was scheduled to resume at 9:15 p.m., according to UGA sports communications.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the weekend:

Saturday

Campbell vs. Georgia, noon

Campbell/Georgia loser vs. Troy/Duke loser, 4 pm

Campbell/Georgia winner vs. Troy/Duke winner, 8 pm

Sunday

Game times are noon and 6 pm

Monday (if necessary)

Game time is 4 pm
