Chad Clay, a defensive back from Peachtree Ridge, chose Georgia.

Three things to know about Clay, who enrolled early:

1. NFL bloodlines: A four-star corner, Clay committed to Georgia on May 18, choosing the Bulldogs over Florida, Georgia Tech and Ohio State among others. Clay is the son of former NFL safety Willie Clay, who played at Georgia Tech.

2. A player to count on: Peachtree Ridge coach Mark Fleetwood raved about Clay's competitiveness and work ethic. "Chad Clay has great practice habits, and he also loves to compete," Fleetwood said. "I believe Chad will do well because of those two things. He was a guy you could always count on when the game was on the line."

3. A nose for end zone: Clay played offense, defense and on special teams for the Lions, but will play defensive back at Georgia. He is trouble with the ball in his hands. As a senior, he returned two of his three interceptions for touchdowns and also took a pair of punts back for scores.
