About 50,000 tickets have been distributed for Saturday’s game between Georgia Tech and Miami. Presuming Saturday’s attendance matches or exceeds the distribution, it would be Tech’s second game with attendance above the 50,000 mark out of three home games. Tech had three all of last season – Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Georgia. The Georgia Southern game Sept. 13 drew 53,173.
Of the remaining home games, Clemson appears likely to pass 50,000, with Duke and Virginia less so.
The ticket office sold out its allotment of student tickets Tuesday, a total of 8,600 tickets. The athletic department has often heard that students prefer night games, particularly over early-afternoon games, such as the Georgia Southern game, where student attendance was light. Tech plays Miami at 7:30 p.m.
