Georgia State will be mostly healthy going into Saturday’s pivotal football game at Georgia Southern.
The Panthers (5-6, 4-3) need one more win to become bowl eligible.
Tight end Keith Rucker and guard Alex Stoehr, who left last week’s 31-21 win over Troy with injuries, practiced on Monday, according to coach Miles.
Rucker had career highs for receptions (1o) and yards (154) in the win over the Trojans. They did set school records for a tight end.
Stoehr, a starter at guard, limped off with an ankle injury.
Additionally, Miles said linebacker James Traylor (concussion) will return.
Coach of the year: Troy coach Neal Brown said Miles should be named the Sun Belt coach of the year for the job he is doing this season. After losing five of their first seven games, the Panthers are in the midst of a three-game win streak, the first time that has happened since the 2010 season.
Miles thanked Brown for his stumping but said he didn’t have anything to add.
