Say whatever you like about how Brice Ramsey has looked in the games he has played for Georgia. For him, and for the Bulldogs, the important part is he has been able to gain experience this season.

“No doubt, I definitely feel a lot more comfortable now than I did at the beginning of the season,” said the redshirt freshman from Camden County. “Getting in there in games is a lot different than in practice. I mean, practice is practice. But you’ve got to practice like you want to play. If you do that it will transfer into the game and I feel like it has for me.”

Ramsey started the second half against Charleston Southern for the Bulldogs, who led 38-3 at halftime. Ramsey played into the fourth quarter and finished with 92 yards on 8-of-12 passing with a touchdown and an interception.

It was the fifth game in which Ramsey has played this season. For the year, he’s has completed 66 percent of his passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Saturday’s interception was his first of the year.

“I felt like I did good overall,” Ramsey said. “I just went out there and tried to have fun.”

Redshirt sophomore Faton Bauta also got into the game. He was 2-for-2 passing for 31 yards and had one carry for three yards.

“It was good to see some of those guys get some playing time,” starting quarterback Hutson Mason said. “I thought the backup QBs played really well and made some nice throws. It’s good to see everybody’s hard work pay off.”
