Former Georgia Tech B-back Patrick Skov was limited because of a lingering hamstring injury, but performed in most agility tests and football drills at the school’s Pro Day Friday at the Brock indoor facility.
Skov did not run the 40-yard dash as he was recovering from a hamstring injury that he suffered on the final play of his appearance in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, a pre-draft showcase game in January in Carson, Calif.
He said that he “tried to muscle through the rest of it and put some stuff down on paper.” He added that a few scouts indicated that they would return to time him in the 40 when he is healthier.
Skov finished the workout with 31 bench-press reps of 225 pounds, the most of any player testing Friday. Of all players at the NFL draft combine, only six had more reps, and Skov said he typically can bench 225 as many 35 times.
Having played fullback in Stanford’s pro-style offense before transferring to Tech for the 2015 season, “he kind of fits that mode of what they’re looking for at that position,” coach Paul Johnson said. “So I’m sure he’ll get a chance in a camp.”
