Three things to know
1. The Owls scored nine points in the final two minutes to defeat Division II Shorter last week. It was the first close game the Owls played this season. The game-winning points came on a field goal with 1:39 remaining. A fumble was returned for a touchdown for the final margin.
2. Dayton should provide the first test of the season. Though the Flyers play in the non-scholarship Pioneer League, they are 2-0 this season with close wins over Robert Morris and Duquesne.
3. The Owls are averaging 44 points and giving up 11 per game. They are averaging 325 rushing yards and 117.3 passing yards per game, while allowing 95 rushing and 135.3 passing per game.
Player to watch: Kennesaw State offense
WR Justin Sumpter. He leads the team with eight receptions for 272 yards and two touchdowns. He ranks fourth in FCS in yards per catch (34).

DL Mason Harris. He is tied for the national lead in tackles for loss (6.5). He is tied for the team lead with 12 tackles. He has a sack, two quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
Player to watch: Dayton offense
RB Connor Kacsor. He was named co-offensive player of the week in the Pioneer League after carrying the ball 40 times for 244 yards and three touchdowns in the Flyers' 24-13 win over Duquesne last week. It was the fifth time he rushed for at least 200 yards. He ranks second in rushing in FCS this season (158 yards per game).
Player to watch: Dayton defense
CB Cameron Stubbs. He had two interceptions in last week to also earn Pioneer League player-of-the-week honors. He added six tackles. At 5-foot-10, he will have a challenge in defending either Owls wide receivers Sumpter or P.J. Stone, who each is 6-3.
