‘Nasty’ OL Mike Maye signs with Georgia Tech

Dec 20, 2017

A leader of one of the top high-school teams in the Southeast, offensive lineman Mike Maye has signed his letter of intent with Georgia Tech. Tech announced his signing Wednesday morning, the first day of the early signing period.

Maye, 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, was a two-time captain at powerhouse Hoover High, which won state titles in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

“Big, aggressive, nasty – just that type of offensive lineman that we thrive on in this system that we play in,” said defensive line coach Mike Pelton, who was the lead recruiter for Maye, on the team’s online broadcast of the signings.

Maye was a three-star prospect (247 Sports composite).
