Georgia Tech offensive tackle Morgan Bailey may not return for his senior season. Bailey has played 15 games in three seasons, incuding three this season, as he has fought a series of injuries and surgeries.

Said coach Paul Johnson, “I don’t know if Morgan’s coming back.”

Bailey is on track to graduate in May. Occasionally, players who earn their degrees before their eligibility is completed choose to forego their senior season. Typically, it’s players with limited chance to play.

Johnson said he will talk about the decision with Bailey. He had been slated to start this season at right tackle before being sidelined with a sports hernia.

“Morgan’s a guy that I felt like had unlimited potential,” Johnson said. “I felt like he was probably as talented as anybody we’ve had at that position, but he’s been hurt. He just can’t stay out there, and it’s one thing after the next after the next.”

He is not expected to play in Tech’s Music City Bowl appearance against Ole Miss Dec. 30.

Another offensive tackle, Chase Roberts, is also not expected to play in the bowl game because of a concussion he suffered against Clemson Nov. 14. Roberts had started four games as injuries mounted on the offensive line.
