Georgia State could be without several key players for Saturday’s game against Georgia Southern at the Georgia Dome.

The linebackers could be particularly thin.Trey Payne (foot) is doubtful , Joseph Peterson (shoulder) and James Traylor (concussion) are questionable and Sean Jeppesen (sick) is out. Payne, Peterson and Jeppesen are starters.

Should any of those linebackers not be able to play, freshman Malik Ricks and sophomore Jameel Spencer could see more snaps.

In the secondary, starting cornerback Chandon Sullivan (shoulder) is questionable.

On offense, guard Akil Hawkins (knee) is questionable and running back Gerald Howse (hamstsring) is also questionable. Howse set career highs for carries (13) and yards (53) against South Alabama.

Coach Trent Miles said Marcus Caffey should return at running back this week.
