Nick Menocal has left the team after three seasons on the Georgia Tech roster, playing linebacker and defensive end. Menocal played in five games last season and was down on the depth chart this season. Menocal is on track to graduate in December and then will transfer and play his final year of eligibility elsewhere, coach Paul Johnson said. … Tech practiced in full pads Tuesday in preparation for the Tulane game Saturday. … In expectation of hot weather Saturday, players have been repeatedly instructed to drink plenty of water this week. Nose tackle Shawn Green said he tries to drink a gallon of water daily. … Pro football hall of famer Joe Montana’s son Nick is a quarterback on the Tulane roster. He has made 24 career starts, but is not on the team’s two-deep depth chart.
