Jarett Cole

Position: Safety

Committed: July 30

Height, weight: 5-foot-10, 180 pounds

Hometown: Norcross

What to know: He chose Georgia Tech over Iowa, Kansas State and Nebraska.

Cole on why he committed to Tech so early: "I know I wanted to commit before the season started. I just felt like it was going to be the best fit for me long-term, educational wise, and them being a Power Five school in a top-5 conference, we play the big teams, and it was close to home."

Cole on his official visit and why he chose Tech: "When I went on my official visit, it just confirmed everything. … From a football aspect, it was just great, and it's close to home. My dad can see my home and away games, and I felt like I could come in as a true freshman and make an impact."

Cole on the biggest factor in his decision process: "The big thing was that my recruiter was coach Ted Roof. … It was kind of a good deal with him. We have a good relationship. For a while, me and him probably talked every single day."

Cole on what he's most looking forward to when he becomes a Yellow Jacket: "I'm most excited about the college atmosphere. Being away from home and doing something I love, because my ultimate goal is to make it to the NFL and just to be successful."
