Two-time Olympian Chaunte Lowe and longtime broadcasting director Wes Durham will be among Georgia Tech’s sports hall of fame class to be inducted Oct. 16. The school will make the announcement about the nine-member class, the largest since 2006 (also nine), on Thursday morning.

Lowe (née Howard) won three NCAA titles in the high jump and was a six-time All-America. She recently won her seventh USA Track and Field outdoor championship in the event. Durham is a Tech icon for his 18-year tenure as the voice of the Yellow Jackets, broadcasting more than 750 Tech football and men’s basketball games. Durham left Tech in 2013 to call play-by-play for Fox Sports South in addition to his duties calling Falcons games on the radio.

Other inductees are All-ACC running back Joe Burns, All-American softball pitcher Jessica (Sallinger) Cole, four-time academic All-American punter Dan Dyke, football manager Charlie Germany, All-American baseball shortstop Tyler Greene, All-American golfer Kris Mikkelsen and two-sport athlete (football and golf) Jakie Rudolph.

The class will be inducted the night prior to Tech’s home football game against Pittsburgh.
