Kennesaw State won its first Atlantic Sun baseball tournament title with a 7-1 win over Lipscomb on Sunday in Fort Myers.

First baseman Chris McGowan went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and catcher Max Pentecost with 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base.

The Owls (37-21) broke open the game with three runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth.

Starting pitcher Jordan Hillyer pitched six innings, allowing one run and striking out five. James Connell followed with two innings to earn the win and Justin McCalvin pitched the ninth.

Kennesaw State will find out on Monday in which regional it will play.
