Kirby Smart assistant to make $225,000

New Georgia head football coach Kirby Smart will remain as Alabama's defensive coordinator through the college playoffs.
Glenn Schumann’s exact role on Kirby Smart’s new football staff isn’t defined yet, but his salary is.
Schumann will earn $225,000, according to a personnel report released by the University of Georgia through the Open Records Act.
Smart said Monday that Schumann – who was in a player development role at Alabama – would “probably” be an on-field, full-time assistant coach. Schumann’s background is on defense, where he worked closely with Smart at Alabama.
Last year at Georgia the lowest-paid full-time assistants were running backs coach Thomas Brown and inside linebackers coach Mike Ekeler, both at $275,000.
