At his weekly Tuesday news conference, Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson called the program “pretty stable,” noting that the Yellow Jackets have the fourth most wins in the ACC (after Florida State, Virginia Tech and Clemson) since his hire prior to the 2008 season, have finished third or better in the Coastal Division each season and won or tied for the division title three times.
“I think the program’s on pretty solid ground, really,” he said. “It all depends on your expectations, I guess.”
Johnson on his quarterbacks, Justin Thomas and Tim Byerly: “(Thomas) has had a good spring camp, a good fall camp and, for that matter, so has Tim Byerly. I feel good about that position being able to deliver what we want to do with the offense.”
