Former Griffin High School quarterback Jaquez Parks practiced with Georgia State’s football team on Saturday.
Parks will be the fourth quarterback on the roster, joining Conner Manning, Emiere Scaife and Aaron Winchester in the battle to replace Nick Arbuckle. The Panthers went 6-7 last season and will open this season hosting Ball State on Sept. 2 at the Georgia Dome.
He signed with Kennesaw State, but left in the spring of 2015 and enrolled in Hines junior college, where he passed for more than 1,400 yards with 16 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Because he hasn’t spent as much time learning coordinator Luke Huard’s offense as the other players, it’s likely he will be a scout team quarterback this fall.
