The 2020 NFL Draft is still a long way off, but that didn’t stop one NFL draft expert from giving UGA quarterback Jake Fromm some early praise.

Matt Miller of Bleacher Report noted that the Bulldogs sophomore is at the same level as Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who many expect to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft. Miller also added that a number of 2019 draft eligible quarterbacks may decide to enter the draft this year because they wouldn’t want to compete with Fromm and Tagovailoa.

Fromm’s numbers (27 touchdowns to 5 interceptions) aren’t significantly worse than Tagovailoa’s (37 touchdowns to 4 interceptions). But when someone questioned whether or not Fromm was as good as Tagovailoa, Miller admitted that while he hasn’t done a deep dive on either quarterback, Fromm does have some “promising traits that make him a fun prospect.”

Georgia has not had a quarterback taken with in the first round of the NFL draft since Matthew Stafford went No. 1 overall in the 2009 NFL Draft.
