Jake Fromm spending his spring building habits

Jake Fromm was born July 30, 1998. Fromm's first moment at the national level came in the 2011 Little League World Series. Fromm led Houston County High to the third round of the state football playoffs as a senior. A 4-star recruit, Fromm committed to Alabama before changing his mind and later signing with Georgia. After Saturday’s scrimmage, Georgia coach Kirby Smart complimented Jake Fromm’s offensive acumen and allowed that at times he’s worried that the quarterback finds spring drills a bit dull since he’s been there, done that.

“It’s obvious; he understands things,” said Smart of Fromm, who passed for 2,749 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2018. “There’s probably times he has to be careful that he doesn’t get bored. He knows defensively every call we’ve got. He hears the call, he’s already got his call, he knows what the next step is. He’s getting their call and our call half the time.”

When asked how he stays engaged during practice, Fromm made an interesting comment regarding turning skills into habits.

“It comes down to me humbling myself and still taking those mental reps, even when I’m not in,” he said. “It’s another way for me to continue learning, making the same checks and doing it over again. Take whatever skills I have and turn them into habits. That’s huge for me — to build good habits.”
