One in; one out.

That’s the quarterback ledger for the Georgia Bulldogs in the week. Greyson Lambert announced his intentions to transfer to Georgia from Virginia last Wednesday. And Tuesday, Jacob Park announced via social media that he intended to leave the Bulldogs.

“I just want to say thank (you) dawg nation and everyone else who made my stay in Athens special. Never will forget the people and friends. Time to move on and turn the page to the next chapter. Go Dawgs.”

Dawgs247.com was the first report that Park was leaving and said the 6-foot-4, 202-pound redshirt freshman was destined for junior college.

Park did not answer phone calls or return text messages. His father, Adam Park of Goose Creek, S.C., insisted he knew nothing of it.

“I can’t tell you what’s up because I don’t know what’s going on myself,” Adam Park said. “I have no clue where this came from. I don’t know nothing about it.”

Jacob Park did not answer phone calls or return text messages. Asked if he believed the report to be untrue, Adam Park said emphatically, “I do.”

Park’s decision is hardly shocking. Lambert’s decision to transfer to Georgia instantly put Park further away from earning playing time. Park exited spring practice a distant third on the depth chart behind sophomore Brice Ramsey and junior Faton Bauta. Lambert is a rising junior and started nine games last season for Virginia this past season.

Meanwhile, Jacob Eason of Lake Stevens, Wash. — the No. 1-ranked quarterback prospect in the country — is committed to the Bulldogs and plans to enroll at UGA in January.

There has been speculation that Park — or possibly one of Georgia’s other quarterbacks — might transfer to Colorado State to play for Mike Bobo, who coached them the last couple of seasons at UGA. But Bobo said Tuesday he has had no contact with any of them.
