Georgia Tech signed two basketball players Wednesday to national letters of intent, guard Tadric Jackson from Tift County High and center Ben Lammers from San Antonio, Texas.

Jackson, 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, is rated the No. 68 player nationally by ESPN. In a statement, coach Brian Gregory said that Jackson has been the coaching staff’s top priority at guard since Gregory’s hire in 2011. Jackson committed to Tech in August over Georgia.

"I really wanted to play in the best conference in the country – that's the ACC," Jackson told the Journal-Constitution after committing. "Really, it's home. (Tech) is not that far away, downtown Atlanta, it's where I want to be."

Lammers, 6-foot-10 and 225 pounds, was rated the No. 10 prospect in the state according to texashoops.com. He chose Tech over Miami and Marquette. Notably, Lammers intends to study engineering and met with professors during his visit to Tech.

"One of the main things that separated (Tech and Miami) was education," Lammers told the AJC upon his commitment in September. "Because, like I said, it's hard to beat a Georgia Tech education. Also, I felt like I fit in a little bit better at Georgia Tech than I did other places."

With Daniel Miller, Kammeon Holsey, Jason Morris and Trae Golden completing their eligibility after this season, Gregory will still have two scholarships available for the 2014-15 roster.
