While looking ahead to Friday night’s Georgia Tech spring game at Bobby Dodd Stadium, here’s a look back at some of our recent coverage of spring practice.

(Also, check out myAJC.com Friday night and Saturday morning for reports about the game.)

The Jackets, coming off a disappointing 5-6 season in which they held double-digit leads in four of the losses, have a new look on defense and 10 offensive players back who started six games or more.

In his first spring practice at Georgia Tech, new defensive coordinator Nate Woody had a couple of key players out with injury (safeties A.J. Gray and Jalen Johnson). The defensive line personnel isn’t quite exactly what he wants. And he could use a few more linebackers. But he expressed his pleasure over what he had overseen in 14 practices with the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech will holds its annual spring football game Friday at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

It marks the second-straight year that the Yellow Jackets’ final scrimmage of the spring will be played under the lights.

As the official start date of Georgia Tech’s partnership with Adidas approaches, the athletic department will reveal one element of its branding campaign with the shoe company Friday. “Tech gold,” the shade of gold that the athletic department will use for apparel, uniforms and other branding elements, will debut on the department’s website and on social media.

Entering Georgia Tech’s spring game Friday night, Yellow Jackets quarterback TaQuon Marshall has a firm grip as the team’s No. 1 quarterback, with teammates Lucas Johnson and Tobias Oliver competing for the No. 2 job.
