In-state rivalries can get pretty heated.

But it's rare when a Heisman Trophy winner is involved in the fracas.

That was the case when the Florida Gators and the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles met on the baseball diamond Tuesday and got into a shoving and shouting match over a disrupted play.

In the middle of the dustup was Jameis Winston - the BCS championship quarterback and pitcher on the Seminoles' baseball team - being held back by teammates and safety officials.

The fracas was set off after Florida State left fielder D.J. Stewart hit a slow roller up the first-base line and collided with Florida pitcher Danny Young while trying to beat it out. Young could not make a play on the ball. After Stewart touched first base, Gators first baseman Zack Powers got in Stewart's face. Stewart shoved Powers and the full scuffle broke out.

Both benches emptied and the incident was frozen in time by a Florida Times Union photographer.

No punches were thrown. Powers, Stewart and Young were ejected. And, oh, Florida won 4-1 to clinch the season series
