Donovan Harden headlined Georgia State’s selections on the Sun Belt All-Conference team released by the league on Wednesday.

Harden, a junior, led Georgia State with 60 catches for 885 yards and seven touchdowns. He set school records with 11 receptions for 186 yards and four touchdowns against Georgia Southern to earn first-team all-conference honors.

He was one of seven Panthers to be honored.

Tight end Joel Ruiz and linebacker Joseph Peterson were named to the second team, selected by the coaches and media. Ruiz, a junior, caught 39 passes for 478 yards and three touchdowns. Peterson, a junior, led the team with 97 tackles. His average of 9.7 tackles per game was third in the Sun Belt. He was an honorable mention selection last year.

Quarterback Nick Arbuckle, receivers LynQuez Blair and Robert Davis, and center Tim Wynn were named honorable mention.

Arbuckle, a junior, led the conference with an average of 273.6 passing yards per game and touchdown passes (23) in setting numerous school records.

Blair was the team’s second-leading receiver with 52 receptions for 536 yards and six touchdowns. Davis had 50 catches for 732 yards and two touchdowns.

Wynn, a junior, helped the Panthers average 22.7 points per game.

Louisiana-Lafayette running back Elijah McGuire was named the league’s player of the year. He was also named the offensive player of the year. Texas State linebacker David Mayo was named the league’s defensive player of the year. Appalachain State quarterback Taylor Lamb was named the freshman of the year. Georgia Southern’s Willie Fritz was named the coach of the year.
