Murfreesboro, Tenn. native Brinae Alexander is considering Georgia Tech to continue her basketball career in 2018.

Alexander, a 5-foot-10 shooting guard, posted about the visit on her Twitter page about her recent home visit from Georgia Tech on Sept. 29.

Being active recruited by Tech women's basketball assistant coach Rob Norris, Alexander announced her 2018 offer from Tech on Aug. 4 on her Twitter page.

In addition to Tech, Alexander had several home visits in September from schools like Vanderbilt on Sept 21., Memphis on Sept. 11 and on Kentucky on Sept 11.

So far, Tech, Vanderbilt and Kentucky are the Riverdale junior’s top choices, but she will mostly likely wait to announce a commitment until the fall of next year.

“(I’m keeping my options) open and see what schools after the school year,” Alexander said. “And then I’m going to probably narrow it down and then take the official visits and then I’ll come up with a decision to sign and commit.”

Alexander is also actively being recruited by Missouri and Tennessee.

During her home visit from Tech, Alexander said she looked through a virtual reality headset showing her parts of Tech’s campus that tours usually don’t take prospective students.

“It had stuff on there that was like looking around Georgia Tech, I was like on top of the building looking at all of Atlanta at once and that was really cool,” Alexander said. “There was one part in the video that I stood over the diving board over the pool… I was kind of scary, but it was so cool because you got to walk around while you’re doing it and feel like you’re actually there.”

Although Alexander hasn’t officially visited Tech as a recruit, she has been on the campus.

During her freshman year of high school, Alexander visited the Tech’s basketball facilities with her Riverside High School basketball team.

“There was one point where my high school team, we got to practice in the gym, so we visited and we looked around the facility in the locker room and stuff and that was pretty cool, I liked it a lot,” Alexander said. “It was pretty cool to get that feel a practicing on a big floor.”

What will make the difference in a choosing school for Alexander is finding a program that feels like home and fits her desire to become a pharmacist after graduation.

“In a program, I look for a more family oriented team that everyone’s driven, trying to get to the same place,” Alexander said. “As of a school, I just want a very good school that’s known for doing good things.”

With an overall Scouts rating of 92, Alexander helped lead the Riverdale Lady Warriors to a 2016 State championship in her sophomore season. The Lady Warriors begin their 2016-2017 season on Nov. 15 at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tenn.
