Georgia Tech safety A.J. Gray will sit out of the Virginia Tech game Thursday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium, the second game in a row that he will miss with an unspecified injury. Gray, who has been an impact player in limited playing time this season, was listed as “out” on the injury report released Tuesday.
Guard Shamire Devine, who missed the Virginia game with an unspecified injury after starting the first eight games of the season, was listed as probable. Coach Paul Johnson said Monday that he had returned to practice and was “good to go.”
Not on the injury report at all was A-back Broderick Snoddy, who returned after a four-game absence for the Virginia game but only played a handful of snaps. Johnson said last week that Snoddy had only practiced once prior to the Virginia game, hence the limited playing time.
With the Yellow Jackets having had their open date this past week, the team should be as healthy and rested as it has been in several weeks. Tech is trying to win its final three games to reach 6-6 and qualify for a bowl game and extend its bowl streak to 19 years.
