On the difference in the game
“They just out-toughed us. In our first game against them, we out-toughed them. We were the tougher team, and they came back with the toughness mindset and just out-toughed us in every area – on the glass, just being more aggressive on their drives and just getting physical plays.” – forward Charles Mitchell
Virginia’s interior defense
“They clog up the lane. If you want to put the defense in rotation, you have to get paint touches. They limit teams’ paint touches, so it’s tough to get any kind of separation. Everything that we were doing was a lot of one on one or around the perimeter screening. And you’re not going to beat a team that, whenever you throw the ball inside, they double and you have to kick it back out. So it’s just really tough to get paint touches and put them in a rotation.” – guard Adam Smith
On playing in the NIT
“I wouldn’t mind. That’d be my first time ever playing in the postseason. I’ll make the most out of it.” – guard Marcus Georges-Hunt
