Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas’ final spring practice is nearly complete. He’ll have Saturday’s spring game, and then it’s on to his senior season.

“I think it went well,” Thomas said Wednesday, following the team’s 14th spring-practice session. “I feel like I got better personally just working on the small things and getting adjusted to the guys. I think we all did pretty good.”

Some of the small things were his footwork on dropbacks and training himself to better read keys in the passing game. He also continued to develop his connection with the A-backs and receivers, many of whom played last year for the first time.

“I felt comfortable last year,” he said. “It’s just now, I guess, it’s that comfort that I know what they’re doing and we just go play fast. I think they’ve done that this whole spring, and (I) am looking forward to Saturday and the future, see what it holds.”

Thomas will lead the first-team offense against the first-team defense in the spring game. Matthew Jordan and TaQuon Marshall will split reps with the second-team offense against the second-team defense.

“You know what you’re going to get from Matt,” Thomas said. “He’s a physical player, he’s going to get downhill. He’s been running better and smarter. I’ve been trying to coach him up a little bit. TaQuon, he’s, I guess, more the shifty guy, get down-type guy, I guess kind of like me. They bring two different things to the table and I think they both are great quarterbacks, and you’re going to see some good things from both of them.”
