THREE STORYLINES
What will the Georgia Tech offense do? This is a big test for the Yellow Jackets' offense after the debacle against Virginia Tech. Better play from the offensive line and quarterback Vad Lee, in particular, will be required for Tech to be competitive with Miami.
Can the Jackets start faster? Tech allowed North Carolina to take a 13-0 lead and Virginia Tech to go up 14-0. Miami has outscored the opposition 59-13 in the first quarter. Allowing the Hurricanes to build on their confidence and get the crowd into the game by scoring quickly is high on the list of things Tech can least afford.
How does Tech handle Duke Johnson? The Miami running back could be the best the Jackets face all season — tough to tackle, great vision and cutback ability, stunning speed. Tech has done well with limiting big plays and has held the opposition to 3.2 yards per carry. Good tackling form and swarming defense will be imperatives for coordinator Ted Roof's crew.
MATCHUP TO WATCH
Georgia Tech offensive line vs. Miami DE Anthony Chickillo. Chickillo tore through the Jackets last year with seven tackles, three of them for loss. Chickillo can play end and tackle and likely will play both Saturday. If Tech can't win at the line against Chickillo and his friends, it's going to be a long afternoon for the Jackets.
