Georgia Tech freshman defensive end Chico Bennett will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery this past Thursday. Bennett made the announcement via his Instagram account on Thursday.

“I wish the year didn’t end so soon but it’s all in God’s plan as he does everything for a reason,” Bennett wrote.

Bennett had earned a spot in the rotation at defensive end, and had been credited with 17 tackles, including 12 solos, a half-sack and a hurry. He had appeared in all seven of Tech’s games.
