Georgia Tech will have to take on North Carolina Saturday without its most experienced A-back. Due to a hand injury suffered last week against Duke, senior Broderick Snoddy was listed as out on the team injury report released Thursday.

Without Snoddy, the Yellow Jackets’ likely rotation at A-back will include Isiah Willis, TaQuon Marshall, Clinton Lynch and Mikell Lands-Davis. In order, that’s a junior who had played 12 games prior to this season, mostly on special teams, first-year freshman, redshirt freshman and first-year freshman playing in his first game.

It was not without reason that, following his Wednesday post-practice interview, coach Paul Johnson joked that he was going to obtain an extra year of eligibility for former A-back Charles Perkins.

Making his seventh career start, Snoddy finished the Duke game despite injuring his hand early in the game. His 16 carries and 175 rushing yards are both highs among A-backs. Snoddy’s track speed and power have given the offense a playmaking element that it has needed as it labored in losses to Notre Dame and Duke.

Snoddy was one of five players listed as out for Saturday’s game at Bobby Dodd Stadium. The others are defensive lineman Patrick Gamble (head), wide receiver Jalen Johnson (knee), A-back Qua Searcy (ankle) and wide receiver Micheal Summers (shoulder).
