Former Georgia Tech defensive back Ajani Kerr has put his name into the transfer portal as a grad transfer, according to two people familiar with the situation. Kerr is on track to graduate in May. Kerr’s decision was first reported earlier Thursday by 247Sports.

Kerr played five games last season as a junior, making 18 tackles, but missed the final seven games of the season. Before the Georgia game in November, he went through senior-day festivities, indicating that his playing career was complete.

Kerr would have one season to play following his graduation and would be immediately eligible.

For his career, Kerr played in 29 games, making 67 tackles with five pass breakups. His most celebrated moment in a Tech uniform was near the end of the Jackets’ 28-22 win over Virginia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium in 2017. On a fourth-and-1 from the Jackets 32-yard line, Kerr batted down a pass into the end zone to secure the victory for Georgia Tech.
