Georgia State wide receiver Avery Sweeting suffered a broken collarbone in last week’s loss to Charlotte and is expected to miss four weeks, coach Trent Miles said on Monday.

Sweeting, a slot receiver and returner, caught one pass for 43 yards and returned one kickoff for 12 yards in the opener. He had 16 receptions for 224 yards and one touchdown in eight games last year.

Sweeting joins last year’s leading reciever Donovan Harden (foot) and running back Kendrick Dorn (running back) as players who will miss this week’s game at New Mexico State. Additionally, tight end Joel Ruiz played in the 23-20 loss to the 49ers but didn’t look 100 percent after recovering from knee surgery.
