Georgia State has received Kevin Ware's release and is recruiting him. Citing NCAA rules, a school spokesman said they would have no further comment.

Ware is a former Louisville player who starred at Rockdale County High School. He announced on Saturday that he intended to transfer from Louisville and Auburn and Georgia State were considered landing spots.

Ware was a key member of last year's Louisville team, which won the national championship at the Georgia Dome.

Ware sustained a broken right leg during last year's NCAA tournament, an injury that caused him to miss the final few games of the title run.

A 6-2 guard, he averaged 3.1 points per game at Louisville.

Ware would have two years of elligibility remaining.
