Sept. 19, at Oregon, 2 p.m.

Georgia State will receive $900,000 for the right to travel across the country and play last year’s national-championship runner-up.

Oct. 3, vs. Liberty

The homecoming game for Georgia State against a Flames team that finished 9-5 last season. The Panthers could leave the game 3-1 with a few good breaks.

Oct. 10, vs. Appalachian State

The Mountaineers rolled the Panthers 44-0 last year, holding them to 62 yards in offense in the snow in Boone, N.C.

Oct. 17, at Ball State

The first meeting between these teams. The Cardinals were 5-7 in the MAC last season, but return almost every starter on offense.

Oct. 21, at Arkansas State

The Red Wolves are the first of six consecutive conference opponents. They return nine starters on offense, including quarterback Fredi Knighten, who led the 52-10 demolition of Georgia State last year.

Nov. 7, vs. Louisiana-Lafayette

The Cajuns defeated the Panthers 34-31 last year and return Sun Belt player of the year Elijah McGuire, who rushed for 1,264 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.

Nov. 14, at Texas State

The Bobcats beat the Panthers 54-31 last year and return seven starters on offense and six on defense from that squad.

Nov. 21, vs. South Alabama

The Jaguars, who defeated the Panthers 30-27 last year, are rebuilding this season, with just five starters returning.

Nov. 27, vs. Troy

The Trojans ran for 324 yards in a 45-21 victory over the Panthers last year. The Trojans have a new coach in Neal Brown, who will install a pass-first offense.

Dec. 5, at Georgia Southern

The Eagles rushed 63 times for 613 yards in a 69-31 victory over Georgia State last year. Five starters on that offense will return.
