NEW MEXICO STATE AT GEORGIA STATE

Line: New Mexico State by 1 1/2

WHAT TO EXPECT

Georgia State on offense: The Panthers scored 38 points and rolled up a program-record 566 yards in last week's win. Quarterback Nick Arbuckle was cool under pressure, running back Krysten Hammon and Kyler Neal were particularly tough on draw plays, and a deep group of wide receivers led by Robert Davis and LynQuez Blair consistently produced.

New Mexico State on offense: The Aggies were paced by running back Larry Rose, who gained 149 yards on 30 carries, last week. The team totaled 197 yards and two touchdowns rushing, after gaining 1,701 yards, an average of 141.8 per game, last season. Quarterback Tyler Rogers passed for 158 yards and two TDs.

Georgia State on defense: The Panthers held Abilene Christian to 95 rushing yards — a vast improvement over last season's 221.2 average, but gave up more than 400 passing yards, including several big plays. Standouts were outside linebacker Jarrell Robinson, who had two sacks, and Joseph Peterson, who led the team with 11 tackles and an interception.

New Mexico State on defense: The Aggies had few problems while allowing 265 yards in last week's 28-10 win over Cal Poly, which runs an option offense. But the Aggies' front seven is small (the heaviest weighs 275 pounds and the rest 240 or less), so they could get pushed around by GSU's bigger offensive line, where one starter weighs less than 300 pounds.
