Members of Georgia’s defense had little to say about Saturday’s game against Florida, which ultimately said a lot about the loss.

The little that inside linebacker Ramik Wilson did say after Monday’s practice regarding Florida’s 38-20 victory in Jacksonville included an important verb: “underestimated.”

“We were going on a roll winning games,” Wilson said. “I guess we got too comfortable. … We’ve beaten Florida three years in a row. They’ve had tough losses, they don’t have a good record, they’ve gone through a lot of adversity. They came ready to play.”

Cornerback Damian Swann said he’s over the Florida game and the team can do nothing but move forward after having lost their second game following a bye week this season.

“We know how to regroup,” Swann said. “I don’t really think anybody was uptight [at Monday’s practice].

Swan went on to say that defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt didn’t need to go to bat for his players and take responsibility for the loss after the game Saturday and that the defense would not make excuses for itself. After all, Todd Gurley doesn’t play on defense and Florida had a bye week before the game, too.

Coach Mark Richt said on his radio show Monday night that he doesn’t expect Kentucky to rely on its running game as much as Florida did. Georgia had the 13th-best rushing defense in the nation through the month of October, but now sits at 48th-best through eight games after giving up 418 rushing yards to the Gators.

Still, Swann thinks the Wildcats will take a few tips from Florida and try to run the ball down the Bulldogs’ throats.

“If I was a coordinator, I know I would.”

Other notes from Monday’s practice:

  • Richt said on his radio show that center David Andrews did not practice on Monday, but is expected to play at Kentucky on Saturday. Andrews sustained a sprained ankle against Florida and did eventually return to that game. He's listed as a captain for Kentucky, along with offensive lineman Kolton Houston, linebacker Kosta Vavlas and Swann.
  • CBS has exercised its six-day option in deciding whether or not it will air Georgia's home game against Auburn on Nov. 15. The game will air either at 3:30 p.m. on CBS or at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN. CBS will choose between the Georgia game and Mississippi State at Alabama.
