For the second time this season, a Georgia basketball game opened with a pregame announcement of a player suspension.

Amanze Ngumezi has been suspended indefinitely, per a statement handed to media shortly before the Bulldogs (5-2) tipped off against N.C. Central at Stegeman Coliseum. The 6-foot-9 forward from Savannah was averaging 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds and had started all seven games.

“There are a combination of factors involved in this decision, all of which are associated with his lack of personal awareness and attitude expected of a Georgia Basketball player,” coach Tom Crean said in the one-paragraph statement.

That was the same manner in which Crean informed the public that Jordan Harris was suspended minutes before the season opener against Western Carolina. The senior guard from Iron City will return from a nine-game suspension for undisclosed team rules violations in Georgia's Dec. 20 home game against SMU.

The statement did not say if or when Ngumezi could return.
