Albany State vs. Miles, SIAC Championship game, 7 p.m. (Montgomery, Ala.)

There have been three-team ties and two-team ties for the Gulf South Conference championship, but never a four-way tie.

That could change Saturday.

West Georgia (9-1), Florida Tech (7-3), North Alabama (7-3) and Valdosta State (7-2) each can claim a share of the conference title under one scenario.

That would require Valdosta State (4-2 in the GSC) to defeat Florida Tech (5-1) and West Georgia (5-1) and North Alabama (5-1) to lose in their regular-season finales.

No matter how the GSC race plays out, all four teams are attempting to reach the Division II playoffs.

Seven teams, up from six in past years, will advance from each of the four Super Regions.

West Georgia is No. 1, North Alabama is No. 2, Florida Tech is No. 6 and Valdosta State is No. 7 in Super Region 2, which also includes teams from the South Atlantic and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic conferences.

The Division II selection show is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday.

SIAC: Albany State (6-3) will play Miles (6-4) for the conference title, a rematch of a regular-season game the Golden Rams won 29-16 on Oct. 3.

Miles has won five consecutive since that loss, including a 26-23 upset of then-No. 14 and defending conference champ Tuskegee last week.

Albany State’s Jarvis Small (Brunswick) was selected as the SIAC’s offensive player of the year for the second consecutive season.

He leads the SIAC in rushing with 932 yards and 11 touchdowns, a year after he led the conference with 1,169 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Division III: If Berry (7-2, 6-1 Southern Athletic Association) defeats Centre on Saturday, the Vikings will win the conference title and advance to the Division III playoffs in the program's third season.

Berry went 2-17 its first two seasons.

NAIA: Reinhardt (8-1, 3-1 Mid-South Conference West Division), ranked 13th in the NAIA poll, must defeat Bethel (4-6, 1-3) to reach the 16-team tournament.

No. 18 Point (8-2, 5-0), which was 1-9 last season, clinched the Sun Conference championship last week and would clinch a playoff spot with a victory over Concordia College in its regular-season finale.

Etc.: Georgia Military College is 8-3 and in line for a potential bowl berth. … Morehouse ended 5-5 and Clark Atlanta was 1-8. … Morehouse's Amyr Smith (Grady) is the SIAC freshman of the year after he led the conference in kickoff returns (33.9 yards per game), returning two for touchdowns. He also caught six touchdown passes. … Savannah State (1-7, 1-4 MEAC) has started four players at quarterback, including Arshon Spaulding (Glynn Academy), who will start Saturday. He leads the Tigers with 438 yards rushing and 369 yards passing. … LaGrange quarterback Connor Blair set a single-game school record with 460 yards passing in last week's loss to N.C. Wesleyan.
