Former Georgia quarterback David Greene is going back to the film room.

The new SEC Network has hired him to host a show called “Film Room,” in which a different SEC head football coach will sit down with Greene each week to break down game footage.

“David’s many hours watching film and preparing as a quarterback make him a great fit for Film Room,” Stephanie Druley, ESPN senior vice president of college networks, said in a news release. ESPN operates the SEC Network, which launched last week.

Said Greene: “My goal is to bring a new layer of depth to fans on why teams are successful on the field and the mindset of a coach during a game.”

The show will air regularly on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m., although the first episode Sept. 3 will have a special time of 8 p.m.

Greene was Georgia’s starting quarterback in 52 consecutive games from 2001-04, leading the Bulldogs to the SEC championship in 2002. Georgia’s Aaron Murray last season broke Greene’s SEC career record for passing yardage.
