Former Tulane assistant John McDonell will join Georgia State's football staff as an offensive analyst. Spring practice begins on Thursday.

Coach Trent Miles said on Tuesday that he was adding the analyst because he will be down two full-time coaches when practice begins. Sports Illustrated reported the move Wednesday afternoon.

Miles wouldn’t confirm the hire on Wednesday because the hire was going through the human resources process.
