1. Georgia State led in the fourth quarter

Off a 9-yard run by running back Kyler Neal, the Panthers took the lead 17-13 over Wisconsin with 11:36 remaining in the game.

Quarterback Conner Manning threw a 60-yard pass to wide receiver Glenn Smith that set the Panthers up to score on the next play.

2. Wisconsin scored six points in the first half

The Panthers’ defense allowed two Wisconsin field goals in the first quarter, and kept the Badgers scoreless in the second quarter. The Badgers ended the half with a 6-0 lead.

The Badgers entered the red zone once in the first quarter to score their second field goal — from 28 yards.

The Panthers missed an opportunity to score in the first half when the Badgers blocked a 46-yard field-goal attempt by senior Rogier ten Lohuis.

3. Wide receiver Robert Davis continued a reception streak

Wide receiver Robert Davis scored the Panthers’ first touchdown of the game off a 13-yard pass from Manning. The senior receiver extended his streak Saturday to 38 games with at least one reception.

Davis finished Saturday’s matchup with eight receptions for 93 yards.

4. Wisconsin’s defense slipped

After allowing 224 total yards in their 54-10 win over Akron, the Badgers allowed 302 total yards, 269 passing yards, against the Panthers.

Manning completed 20 of 29 for 269 yards.

Off 24 carries, the Panthers totaled 33 rushing yards.

5. Panthers’ defense held up

The Panthers forced one fumble in the second quarter, recovered on the Georgia State 1 after the Panthers fumbled the ball at their 23.

The Panthers’ secondary was also on its toes, intercepting a pass by the Badgers’ Alex Hornibrook in the fourth quarter on the Georgia State 32.
