The Kennesaw State Owls are hoping to get back five of their starters by next Saturday’s game against Duquesne.
One of the most important starters that were out against Point on Saturday was quarterback Trey White who is working through an adductor injury.
“I would think best case scenario and maybe Furman (he’d be back), but it all depends on how he responds and that kind of stuff and we don’t really ever know that,” Bohannon said.
White has not fully participated in practice since suffering the injury in the Owls’ season opener against East Tennessee State.
The Owls’ other starters who missed Saturday’s game against Point and are working through injuries are linebacker Dez Billingslea, running back Myles White, running back Jake McKenzie, defensive lineman Justin Elim and defensive lineman Auzoyah Alufohai.
“Some of them are coming back, some of them didn’t practice (Wednesday),” Bohannon said. “Outside of maybe Trey (White), I’m hopeful that will get them all back, but they may not respond like we hope they do in the next three to five days.”
For redshirt sophomore Billingslea, the Owls bye week came just in time.
The Owls had Monday and Tuesday off to focus on school and rehabbing, and began preparing for Duquesne on Wednesday.
Billingslea is struggling through a foot injury after injuring his other foot and missed practice before the season started.
“It was just kind of nice to get our legs back under us and for those guys who’ve been injured like myself, just get healthy and get ready for the upcoming week,” Billingslea said.
