Five members of Georgia State’s Class of 2014 are candidates to be grayshirted, the process of players enrolling in the first academic term of the year after they originally signed. These players didn’t enroll in school on Monday, the first day of the summer semester. Just because the players haven’t yet enrolled doesn’t mean they can’t, should an injury or something occur to a player already enrolled at Georgia State.

Those five are:

  • Stephenson High tight end Ari Werts, an all-area player by the AJC;
  • Cass High offensive lineman Lucas Johnson, a preseason first-team all-state selection in Class AAAA by Georgia High School Football Daily;
  • Colquitt County High School wide receiver Todd Boyd, who helped Colqiutt the Class AAAAAA semifinals as a junior and senior;
  • Carver High linebacker Ed Curney, who suffered a shoulder injury during his senior year.
  • Parkview High School fullback Brandon Sullivan;

Additionally, junior college players Sheldon Wynn and Michael Harrison are enrolling in the fall.
