Georgia running back Sony Michel, who has missed five of the past seven games with injuries, is expected to play Saturday against Georgia Tech.

“He looks good,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said Tuesday. “He’s been practicing. He’ll be ready.”

Michel, now the Bulldogs’ No. 2 tailback behind fellow freshman Nick Chubb, missed four consecutive games with a broken shoulder blade suffered against Tennessee on Sept. 27. He returned to action on Nov. 8, running for 84 yards on 16 carries against Kentucky, but suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the following game against Auburn.

He played sparingly against Charleston Southern last week, gaining 21 yards on five carries.

Michel has 328 rushing yards for the season, almost half of them (155) against Troy. He has caught six passes for 67 yards.
