Arkansas’ visit to Missouri will kick off less than 24 hours before Georgia’s game against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs don’t have restrictions on what they can and can’t watch in their Chateau Elan hotel rooms, and they’ll likely be relaxing come 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Don’t bother asking if they’ll be tuned into the one game that will determine their chance of an SEC Championship game berth.
“Tech’s a pretty good football team this weekend,” senior right guard Kolton Houston said in response to the question.
Senior inside linebacker Ramik Wilson provided a terse, “No.”
“We’ve got to worry about our own house first and then everything else will fall into place,” Wilson later elaborated.
Tennessee failed to give Georgia the help it needed last Saturday evening when it lost to Missouri 29-21 in Knoxville. An Arkansas win is Georgia’s only chance of reaching the Georgia Dome in December.
Wilson does not expect the outcome of the Arkansas-Missouri game to dictate how the Bulldogs’ approach their matchup with Georgia Tech.
“We’ve been handling business for as long as I’ve been here so we’re going to keep that tradition going,” he said.
Although Georgia is a 14 1/2-point favorite against Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs have not forgotten the struggles of their 41-34 double-overtime victory in Atlanta last year.
“They kicked our butts last year,” Houston said. “We won, but for the majority of the game they beat us up down there. So we’ve got a lot to prove.”
